1. First you need to check with us if the tour is available for your preferred dates.
You can do this by phone, email, contact form or booking form. We will then hold the seats for you until you have completed the next steps:

2. This tour does not include accommodation, so next you will need to organise a place to stay for you and your family in Whitianga. Whitianga has plenty of holiday homes, motels, B&Bs etc, but they can get booked out at weekends, so it is a good idea to book early.

Remember the booking with us is on hold and you can cancel it for free if you can't find a place to stay within 24 hours after booking with us, so don't worry (see Ts&Cs).

3. As the ferry crossing from Auckland or Waiheke to Coromandel and back is not included in the tour price, this is the other part you need to do. Book ferry tickets here.

4. Once you have confirmed your accommodation and ferry tickets, please let us know right away, so we can confirm your tour booking.

Dates, times and usual schedule (*):

This tour is only available when the ferry operates between Auckland and Coromandel.

Saturday:
Meet and greet at Hannaford's Wharf for your arrival by ferry from Auckland or Waiheke at 10:45 in the morning.
Drive to Coromandel Town - free time to explore (cafes, galleries, playgrounds...).
If you are keen, we can stop for farm fresh oysters on the way.
Your train ride on the DCR is scheduled for Saturday after lunch.
After this you can enjoy the scenic drive to Whitianga, with beautiful views and photo stops.
Drop off at your accommodation in Whitianga.

Sunday:
No fixed programme in the morning - wander around town, go for a swim at Buffalo Beach, take the ferry to "the other side" and go for a walk, or just relax.
Optional extras on Sunday morning: Whiti Farm Park or Otama Beach (more info here).
Free time for lunch in Whitianga town.
After lunch visit Waiau Waterworks.
We will then take you back to Hannaford's Wharf in time for your 16:30 ferry departure back to Waiheke or Auckland.

(*) In the event of adverse weather conditions, we might change the schedule around for your safety and comfort. In case of cancellation of either the Glass Bottom Boat trip or the Driving Creek Railway Tour, or both, we will refund you the net value of the relevant component of the tour. No alternative programme will be offered. More info here.

Please note that there is currently no ferry service between Auckland / Waiheke and the Coromandel during the week (only Friday, Saturday and Sunday). You can book our tour for weekdays if you are already on the Coromandel. We are happy to pick you up from your accommodation (in Whitianga, Coromandel Town or nearby).
