Our General Terms and Conditions
By making a booking with Coromandel Nature Tours, you accept the following terms and conditions:
1.1 Safety: Coromandel Nature Tours is committed to delivering the best possible experience. We are also committed to your personal safety and pleasure. We therefore reserve the right to cancel or amend tours due to adverse weather and/or road conditions or any other circumstances beyond our control. In the unlikely event of a cancellation, we will refund any paid money in full. If a tour is terminated early, we will refund a proportion of the total fee in relation to the time/distance actually travelled.
1.2 We will look after you and your personal belongings, but will not be held liable for any loss or damage to either. We highly recommend you never leave any valuables on the van while it is unattended.
1.3 For security reasons, particularly in remote places, the driver may stay with the van rather than joining the group for a walk. This is to avoid inconveniences caused by possible vehicle break-ins, a crime which sadly has experienced an alarmingly high increase on remote car parks throughout the country in recent years.
2.1 Pickup from your accommodation in Whitianga is available at no surcharge (for tours starting in Whitianga). Pickup from private addresses can be arranged but may incur an additional fee if outside town. You need to supply the desired pickup location at least 24 hours prior to the departure of the tour.
3.1 Children should be properly restrained in an approved child restraint. Coromandel Nature Tours does not always have those available. Note that on a tour bus, it is not a legal requirement to use such seats for children. We do however recommend you provide your own if bringing a child, solely for your child’s own safety.
5.1 Payment: (for general tours from our tour programme and airport transfers): A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required no later than 14 days before the tour. The total amount of your booked tour must be received by us no later than 24 hours prior to the booked tour's scheduled departure time unless alternative arrangements have been made.
5.2 If your tour or airport transfer starts within 24 hours or less from the time of booking, a valid credit card is required at the time of booking. This credit card is used to secure your seat(s) and guarantee your payment.
5.3 Coromandel Nature Tours have legal obligation to collect the transport/tour fees prior to departure and are not allowed to transport any passenger(s) whose fee(s) were not received by then.
5.5 If your private charter tour starts within 14 days or less, immediate payment of the full quoted final fees is required.
5.6 We reserve the right to cancel a tour if payment requirements are not met.
5.7 Prices are in New Zealand Dollars, and include GST (sales tax, 15% at the time of writing).
6.1 Cancellations by you, the customer (for general tours from our tour programme and airport transfers):
Cancellation up to 14 days prior to booked date: 100% of the paid fare will be refunded.
Cancellation within 13 days and 24 hours prior to booked departure - 50% of the paid fare will be refunded.
Cancellation within 24 hours prior to booked departure and no-show: no refund of fees.
6.2 For private charter tours, these cancellation terms may be different, and will be specifically outlined in your Private Charter Tour Offer and/or Confirmation.
7.1 Force Majeure: Force Majeure means the occurrence of an event that is beyond our reasonable control and which could not have been reasonably prevented by us, which includes, but is not limited to: (a) war, armed conflict, criminal damage, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activity or the threat of any such acts; (b) natural disaster (including but not limited to storm, flooding, fire, earthquake, landslide), adverse weather conditions, high or low water levels; (c) nuclear or other industrial accident causing environmental pollution or contamination; or (d) change in law, amendment (including repeal) in the law or administration of any law in New Zealand, which includes changes in statute, regulation, determination, by-law, declaration, license and the common law as applicable from time to time.
9. Limitation of Liability:
9.1. Some of our tours include the services of independent third party providers, such as hoteliers, airlines, cruise companies and other operators, who are not agents, servants or employees of Coromandel Nature Tours. Although we select these independent service providers carefully, Coromandel Nature Tours is not responsible for the conduct of the independent service providers, their servants and agents or for any ramifications of that conduct. Tours and excursions may, depending on your tour, include activities such as climbing, exploring, hiking, swimming and snorkelling. You accept and assume the risk involved with these activities.
9.3. Coromandel Nature Tours accepts no responsibility for any death, injury, illness, loss (including loss of enjoyment), damage, detention, delay (including mechanical breakdown) beyond its control.
9.2. If, in the opinion of any representative of Coromandel Nature Tours, your mental or physical condition is such as to affect your own health and safety, render you incapable to care for yourself, cause you to became a hazard to yourself or other passengers or result in you becoming objectionable to other passengers or staff, you will not be permitted to embark or continue on the whole or any part of the tour. Coromandel Nature Tours is not liable to you for any costs associated with such a decision and you will not be refunded for any part of the tour.
9.4. Any term, condition or warranty expressed or implied by statute or otherwise in respect of the tour contained on this website or in brochures are excluded to the full extent permitted by law. Nothing in these booking conditions excludes, restricts or modifies the application of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) as amended, consolidated, supplemented or replaced.
9.5. To the full extent permitted by law, Coromandel Nature Tours’s liability arising in or under connection with these booking conditions: (a) is limited to the re-supply of the products or services or the payment of the cost of re-supply of the products or services to you; and (b) excludes liability for any indirect or consequential losses suffered by you or any third party, howsoever caused, including but not limited to pure economic loss or any special, extraordinary or punitive damage to you or any other party.

4.1 Pricing for our tours: for most standard tours from our programme (with the exception of tour M203 "Hobbiton Movie Set", M205 "Coromandel Town and DCR" and L301 "Rotorua 2 days"), the price shown is per one booking of up to two people. Any additional passengers as part of the same one booking pay the price shown for "additional passengers" each. This applies to any one booking, even if two separate bookings are made for the same tour for the same date.

5.4 Payment: (for private charter tours - unless other agreements have been made): Full payment is expected within 5 working days after the invoice has been received by the customer (10 working days for international bank transfer), or no later than 14 days before the tour starts.
8.1 Smoking: For other passengers’ comfort smoking is not allowed inside our vehicles.
6.4 Cancellations by us (Coromandel Nature Tours): As we are committed to your personal safety and pleasure, we reserve the right to cancel or amend tours due to "Force Majeure Events". In the unlikely event of such a cancellation prior to departure, we will refund any paid money in full. No refund will be offered when a tour, which has already commenced, needs to be amended or cancelled due to a "Force Majeure Event".
5.8 Methods of payment: In order to keep our prices low, we do not currently accept payments by credit or debit cards. Payments must be made in advance by internet banking. Any bank fees are to be paid for by the customer.
